Above, my illustration entitled: “The Sovereignty Shield” (Jan 2026) – I stand at the entrance to a glowing enhancement sanctuary, protecting a diverse group of people. I hold a vast transparent shield formed from a human fingerprint, brainwaves and DNA.
On the opposing side, mechanical chains, data cables, surveillance cameras and coercive systems represent government control, corporate ownership, institutional coercion, surveillance and biological discrimination. I attempt to break these restraints with a blazing golden key, representing individual sovereignty.
Human-Sovereignty Transhumanism (HST) affirms humanity’s freedom to pursue technological enhancement while insisting that the human person remain the sovereign subject of technological progress – never its object, product or property.
Founded by Herbert R. Sim in 2014, HST supports the ethical use of artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, genetic medicine, robotics, bionics and longevity science. It rejects both technological rejection and technological surrender.
Technology must remain the servant of humanity. Humanity must never become the property of technology.

The Human-Sovereignty Transhumanism Protocol Standard – Aug 2026
The HSTP Standard translates HST into a practical assessment framework for technologies that enter, alter, monitor or materially influence the body, mind, identity, biological inheritance or consequential decision-making process.
It establishes twenty conformity requirements, Human-Sovereignty Red Lines, evidence requirements, a 100-point scoring methodology and certification levels for human-enhancement technologies.

The Core Commitments of HST
- Technology must expand human capability without extinguishing human agency.
- Every person has the freedom to enhance and the equal freedom to remain unenhanced.
- No institution should acquire ownership or ultimate authority over another person’s body, mind, identity or biological future.
- Neural, genetic, biometric and biological information must receive protection proportionate to its intimacy and potential consequences.
- Artificial intelligence may assist human judgment, but it must not become unaccountable artificial authority.
- Technologies essential to bodily or cognitive function must preserve continuity, security, portability and a meaningful right to disconnect.
- Enhanced and unenhanced persons must remain moral and legal equals.
- Every consequential technological decision must remain traceable to identifiable human or institutional responsibility.
